
KAITIE SLY
CEO/Founder & Bass Instructor
Kaitie has been working in the music industry for over 25 years as a performing/session musician, recording artist, soundscape composer, and educator.
As a music educator, Kaitie has authored a series of six electric bass method books, and is the CEO/Founder of the online music school, Steel Vibrations Inc. Other highlights in music education include working as a bass curriculum design consultant for Fender's new online music lesson platform, Fender Play, as well as curriculum designer, podcast host/producer and audio instructor for singing education company, Singdaptive.
As a composer and sound artist, Kaitie recently completed an artist residency, funded by the BC Arts Council, at Lobe Studio in Vancouver, BC where she composed an immersive meditation piece using 4DSOUND technology. She has been accepted to both the Spatial Sound Institute in Budapest and MONOM in Berlin for residencies in spatial sound as well.
Kaitie currently writes and performs original music with her afro-soul group, Serengeti, and with her other musical projects, Syreim, and her self titled project.
